Create Health in your Finance

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. —Proverbs 21:5

We've decided to be adults with money!

We have found that money can create conflict. And, we're thankful to know it doesn't have to! We’re thankful we have grown personally, we have also grown an amazing coaching practice. This means we've increased our income. Oddly enough, if you don't manage money well when you have less, you still don't manage it well when you have more. Neither one of us grew up gaining the knowledge of finance, budgeting, or even balancing a checkbook. We have picked up skills along the way and have had things in progress, such as savings, retirement plans, and other plans; along the way, we've also learned to create peace and a solid plan, a budget really helps!

Early in our marriage, we had a dear friend offer us the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace book and we "sort of" looked into it. The notion of financial peace was something, because of these books given to us early on, that made us think maybe money could feel good and it didn't have to be stressful. And, in recent years, we began to hear more and more about stewarding what God has blessed us with responsibly. More and more ideas about the energy of money, financial peace, and convictions about finances kept coming our way.

And, then, we found ourselves in a church one evening listening to Dave Ramsey himself. We looked him up to learn about his net worth and learned how credible he is! (Wow, go check out his net worth!!) From there, we purchased his system and in the course of committing to learn together, we found ourselves setting up a time to meet with a Ramsey Preferred Coach. Obviously, we believe in the power of coaching.

We met our financial coach, Jesse Ernst of Ernst Financial Solutions, and it's truly been such a blessing!  We are a work in progress for budgeting and getting on the same page as a couple with finances. We are excited and hopeful because of our progress; we hope that if you're in a place of needing more peace in the area of healthy finances, you'll take a moment to look over these Keys to Budgeting and the Biblical Principles of Finances. These tools were offered to us early on by our Ramsey Preferred Coach, Jesse, and we believe they will help you also.  You might also consider connecting with Jesse for some valuable coaching and help with budgeting, building your net worth, and debt snowballing.

If you’d like to know more about working with Jesse, you can connect with him through his website, Facebook page, email, or schedule a consultation here.

We are finding that since we've decided to be adults with money (yay us!). We are communicating more effectively, setting goals, and sticking with a budget! What's cool about this is that we are not just creating peace with healthier finances for us now but we're also breaking chains for our children and their children (because we'll be able to teach our kids too). The impact of this commitment is creating more health and less stress for our marriage and family. There's so much connection to be found in creating health in all areas of our lives! We believe you can do it, too!

Here’s a sneak peek of some important things we’ve learned while working with Jesse:
